Mie Uban, Grogol
Finally another post of Bakmie. This is a new lunch place that i just found in Grogol area. The banner says that it’s 100% chicken oil or Halal. They’re specialty is Chinese style chicken noodle, but instead of using pork oil or vegetable oil (Bangka Bakmie style), here in Bakmie Uban they use chicken oil.
I order Bakmie Ayam, it tasted great, they really nailed it with this chicken oil. The taste is similar like noodle that uses pork oil. they even go as far as replacing fried pork lard that usually served in chinese noodle stall with fried chicken skin, taste quite similar too.
I would really recommend Bakmie Uban for the taste.

Little Ubud, Kelapa Gading
Had another Balinese Ribs again, courtesy of Disdus promo voucher. This time Little Ubud version of the famous Balinese ribs didn’t dissapoint me. The ribs is tender, moist and the size is really really big. They also sell nasi campur Bali here, but i didn’t try it since the ribs is enough to fill my stomach up. Overall the Ribs is recommended.

It’s Friday night and we’re hungry, my friend pick this place in kebayoran baru, “A cheap place to eat sushi” he said. The name Sushi Miya81 with 81 in the end, leaves us to our imagination of a certain female celebrity.
I order a chicken katsu curry which taste quite good, and a few sushi menu to eat together. Overall the food taste good and the price is quite cheap.

Bebek goreng H.Slamet, Jl. Panjang
Grab a late Dinner last night because of the rain. Come back from the office and just have the urge to eat Fried duck with a couple of friends. We go to Bebek Goreng H.Slamet at Jalan Panjang. Bebek Goreng H. Slamet first established in Kartasuro, Sukoharjo, Central Java. Areas located on the edge of the highway-Yogya Solo. And started to open branches all over Indonesia since 2008. Following Indonesia’s food trend in Fried duck.
Each of us ordered one piece of fried duck with steamed rice. The Rice came with a blanch Singkong leaves, sweet basil and slices of cucumber. The Duck is moist and very tender and goes perfectly well with their sambal korek.
Overal this is my favorite Bebek goreng. It is delicious and at a reasonable price.

Weekend Getaway – Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon, West Java
Torquoise water and blue sky. Feeling the wind blowing through your hair and the smell of the seas. The thought of experiencing all that fills may mind since the start of the week leading to the departure day on friday night. This is a very needed weekend getaway from a very stressfull Jakarta. This time i joined my friend’s DW trip group that set off from jakarta at friday night, with a chartered bus heading for Sumur, a trip that would take about 5-6 hours due to the bumpy road from Anyer to Desa Sumur.
We reached Desa Sumur at about 6:30 AM, in which we rest and clean our self up and ate breakfast before departing to Pulau Peucang. It is a small lively fishing village, if you can get past the smell of the garbages all over the beach.
Ujung Kulon National Park is the first national park in Indonesia, and it lies at the most south-western tip of Java. It is comprised of the Ujung Kulon peninsula and the surrounding islands of Peucang, Handeleum and Panaitan. Peucang Island is where we’ll be staying. It is the base for almost all tourist visiting Ujung Kulon. It has some basic facilities like toilets, kitchen and the only resort at Ujung Kulon with running water and electricity.
Luckily we were greeted by blue sky and perfect weather through out our 3 hour boat ride to Peucang island, and arrive about noon and just in time for lunch. We put our bag into our room and have lunch on the beach with hordes of monkeys surrounding us and watching us, waiting for the right time to steal our lunch. After lunch we set off for snorkling around pulau Peucang, which have several great spots for snorkling. Then off to cibom where we will trek about 30-40 minutes to the Lighthouse and one of my favorite place on Earth, Tanjung Layar. An open grass field at the very tip of Java, surrounded by high cliff over looking to the open sea at then very end. A Perfect camping spot. Too bad this isn’t a camping trip. We spend a few hours visiting tanjung layar then head back to the boat and continue to cidaon, to see the wild bull. It’s already dark when we left cidaon, so we miss the trek to Karang Copong at Pulau Peucang. Below i post a few sunset photos of Karang Copong from my previous trip to Ujung Kulon. We end the day by hanging out and playing cards at Pulau Peucang.
The next day i woke up early, get my camera and my tripod ready. but no sunrise to be seen. The sky is cloudy and the sun is blocked by mainland Java. So i just run back to my room, pack my gear back, and change into my snorkling mode. and spend the rest of the morning swimming and snorkling around the beach of Peucang. Our next destination before heading back to mainland is Pulau Handeleum, to get the canoe that we will be using to explore the Cigenter river. We then sail about 20 minutes to the start of the canoeing trip and start padling upriver, and if we’re lucky we can see the crocodile and the phyton hanging from the branches.
The trip back to the mainland took 3 hours and a light rain accompany us during the trip back to Sumur. Where again we will be on that bumpy bus trip back to Jakarta to end our weekend getaway.

Naugthy Nuri’s Kelapa Gading
Finally after hearing and reading about this ribs, i got the chance to try the famous Naugthy Nuri’s spare ribs. I visit of their branch in Kelapa Gading. The place is kinda dimm and quite cozy. me and my gf ordered their famous ribs (IDR 90.000), a bbq Sausage and potato wedges (IDR 15.000).
Frankly i’m kinda dissapointed with the ribs, they’re great but not up to the hype. The ribs is tender and came off the bone really easily but the meat is kinda dry. But each to it’s own, maybe i just got a bad ribs. But the other menu isn’t fantastic either. The sausage is good, but the wedges is just so so.
Overall for the price of the ribs i’m not gonna be back. Except maybe to try their original establishment in Ubud, Bali.

A healthy congee for a cold night : Bubur Angke
Bubur Angke is my new favorite place for congee. My mother’s friend introduced me to this place. Located in Komplek Taman Harapan Indah Jelambar. From the crowd in front of the restaurant, you can tell that they have something special served here.
Their main serving is their plain congee that is topped with Fried Cakue and sprinkled with chopped spring onion. With a side dish of Boiled chicken or an array of Pigs intestines, ears, etc. I choose chicken for this time. The Chicken is served cold with a dash of soy sauce and sesame oil. It is then topped with Cilantro leaves for that fresh taste.

Overall this is a great place to eat congee, especially on a cold night. My Favorite place to have congee, also for the reasonable price. Service is kinda slow and on the bad side due to their manual order taking and a very crowdy place. Sadly this place is not for the hangover cure since it’s only open From 5-6pm till 9pm or at least till they sold out. And they sold out really fast, so come early.

Sate Pasar Lama Tangerang, Gading Serpong
Now this place is well known to many tangerang people, its main branch is in pasar lama tangerang. But my friend RG takes me to one of its branch in Gading Serpong.
Sate Babi (Pork Satay) is one of my favorite Pork dishes ever. It is Pork meat on a stick that has been marinated in a mixture of spices and kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) then barbecued on a hot grill. It is served with a lime and a bed of kecap manis topped with grated lengkuas (galangal). And this place doesn’t dissapoint me in terms of taste, the meat is juicy and tender. we ordered the meat satay, intestant satay, pork skin satay, and some pork lard satay.
We Also ordered the Sayur Asin, which i didn’t taste (i hate sayur asin) my friends said it is delicious.
Now here in Sate Babi pasar lama the also have bbq pork ribs, following jakarta’s trend in pork ribs bbq. So we ordered a portion of the ribs. The Ribs is tender and juicy. But in terms of taste, i think they use the same marinade as the satay. But overall everything taste great and i will sure be back if i ever want some sate babi. No info on price since i’m not paying this time
